Welcome to Autumn in Auburn!

October 24, 2013 by Steph

Here’s a little update on our family.  We are finally completely moved and living in Auburn.

We have somehow accumulated two over flowing storage units of stuff that is of no importance to any of us except my precious photo albums.  This means in the next few weeks The Salvation Army will be getting a ton of stuff, as I can get the time to go through it all.  The Lord has spoke clearly to me lately this verse, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth,<span class="crossreference" value="(B)” style=”font-weight: bold; vertical-align: top;”> where moths and vermin destroy,<span class="crossreference" value="(C)” style=”font-weight: bold; vertical-align: top;”> and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven,<span class="crossreference" value="(D)” style=”font-weight: bold; vertical-align: top;”>where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.<span class="crossreference" value="(E)” style=”font-weight: bold; vertical-align: top;”> For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Matthew 6:19-21).  Let me tell you with two full storage units we are storing up some stuff, not much treasure.

The Lord has blessed us in so many ways it is impossible to mention everything. However, you know me and that I’m going to try {grin}.  First, His blessings with great friends, family and extraordinary neighbors that we love so dearly.  He never seems to amaze me with providing the people in our lives that we need at that very moment.  Through all of mine and Stephen’s marriage and having the girls, God has always provided distant momo’s, uncle’s, aunt’s, nana’s, & pawpaw’s, because ours has always live so far away they do not get to see them as often as a child should.  These people have been a God send in our lives and we are great full.  Second, He has provided for us beautiful weather for moving instead of the dead of heat and for this I know my husband is very thankful because he did most of the moving for us.  Third, I want to just give God glory for His provision in our lives and directing us in His path each day.  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths”  (Proverbs 3:5-6).  I will admit that this verse hasn’t always been easy.  To trust in Him, even when it sounds crazy or not logical.  Understanding? What’s that? Seriously when your at a point when you do not understand anything He is trying to show you, this is when you can only rely on Him.  My husband has always been my rock to help me see things in more perspective.  He will always say “you know God is at work when life on this earth doesn’t make sense.” He is so right!  Nothing here should make sense to us.  We always say this is not our home, we are pilgrims passing through, but boy our move could have fooled me and you with what we thought were treasures.  I pray that God will cleanse my heart and help me to have an ever giving heart for helping others and to help my eyes see through the lens of Jesus to see those in need around me.  Last but not least, I am thankful for our Church.  God has blessed us with a loving and kind church family.  Most have become nana to my kids and so have even filled the void for Stephen and I when we didn’t have our moms and dads around, we love them and are thankful.  We have all had the opportunity to grow and worship our Lord together through the last six years and hopefully many more.

Our journey to Auburn has been nothing but a God thing.  Being huge Bama fans we just laughed and said “who says God doesn’t have a sense of humor.”  I had only been to Auburn twice in my life.  I had no real desire to move here until it became God’s desire.  It is funny how only He can change our hearts like that.  Needless to say, we all love it here.  It is a beautiful town and seeing all the orange and blue reminds us of our last home, so not much has changed except for our address.  Speaking of, you might need for the future so I’m listing it below.  I hope you will write us and please don’t forget us this Christmas when you mail out your sweet cards.  Our family loves to see them especially if it includes photos of your precious families.  I pray that you will let this verse speak to you as it has me many times over the last few months,

2 Corinthians 5

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:

If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Peace and Blessings,

Our hearts are broken. From the day we went to mee Our hearts are broken. From the day we went to meet you and you jumped in our vehicle, we loved you. We never knew your true age but we celebrated each year we had you. You have traveled far and wide with our little family. You always loved car rides and the water. Even when grabbing your leash just for a walk you would stop at the truck to make sure we weren’t loading up to go somewhere. We knew our trip to Panama City would be your last time in the water and at the beach. You were so tired but you soaked in every second and enjoyed the big waves crashing in. You held on through Emily’s birthday, I think you were just waiting for the burger and birthday cake, which I’m glad we gave you now. You have been a huge part in our lives and we will are already lost without you. You’ve been the best girl ever💗
You will always be with us. Thanks for the memories 🌈🐾 we love you Molly girl.
