What’s your cure for peace, perfect happiness, calm in the storm? I remember the first time I went to the beach. I had heard all the exciting things about it, but had never experienced it for myself.
When Stephen and I were dating in 1998, we took a trip to Panama City, Florida. It was everything I had hoped it would be. I fell in love the minute we arrived and saw the palm trees and the white sand. I remember the first time getting in the salt water and it being a shock to me how salty it was. I don’t know why because I had heard about it all my life.
Sometimes it’s different when we get to experience things for ourselves. I’ve said since that trip “salt water cures everything” meaning I just want to be there. When we arrive at the beach I always get an overwhelming since of the Holy Spirit. I am intrigued with His beauty, His creation.
His design is remarkable! When I came across this quote “The cure for anything is salt water, sweat tears or the sea” I thought isn’t it amazing that our sweat and tears produce salt just as the sea?
I begin to think about the verse that we are the salt of the earth.
13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” -Matthew 5:13
If we are the salt of the earth, can we be the cure? Or will we be good for nothing? Put salt on a wound and it burns, but can also help heal. I hope to be the salt of the earth. What about you?
