I usually keep pretty quite. See I’m not a loud mouth that shares every thought I think or believe. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and trust me they are all going to be very different. Social media has become out of control with people being very vocal of how they feel and what they think. I’m not just talking about the election here, this seriously has become an issue in our society. You know what I’m talking about! It’s become a venue to post a general post saying whatever you want, but you’re really directing it to a certain person.
So today I’m not going to keep quite. I’m going to share my heart because I am hoping it will be for the good. I found myself making a comment that I thought was right, but I shared in anger so it was very ugly. In no way was I sharing love or Jesus. Did I make a difference? Absolutely not! And neither are any of you. I do believe we should stand up for righteousness! But we must be careful to stand up in love and not anger. There is a BIG difference!
What are [we] Christians really showing the world? We go to church, we share biblical stuff, shoot we scream we love Jesus…but are we showing it? Let me be the first to say “I am a BIG FAT SINNER!!!” It is only by the Grace and Mercy of our Jesus that I am forgiven! Thank you Lord for your forgiveness.
This election has gotten everyone all out of sorts. I’ve seen the nicest people be the meanest. I’ve seen Christians be pretty ugly. NOT loving. Not humble. Not peaceful. Not joyful. And definitely Not kind. I was thinking about the song What if Cartoons Got Saved by Chris Rice, then it made me think about the riots on tv and post on social media.
What if we [Christians] started loving our neighbors? What if we were showing the love of Jesus and showing kindness? Teaching the Word of God instead of persecuting and just sharing what we believe. Sharing scripture instead of our opinions. I’ve seen so many people quote the Bible but then not even share the scripture. We need to be leading them to the well!!! Please start adding the scripture so they can look it up!
Would it make a better difference? Would it maybe lead just one to Christ instead of them thinking we’re just holier than thou. What if we quit judging [myself] included here. What if we were joyful? What if we were sharing scripture instead of mean things.
I think we need to get back to the basics and love our neighbor. Maybe we can be a light in our communities instead of creating fires. What do you think. Let’s start a movement #loveyourneighbor.
Galatians 5:22-23 King James Version (KJV)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
I can’t wait to see more love > less hate. Let’s get started!
