Just curious how many of you set aside “fun days” with your kiddos? I use to be really good about this when my girls were little. Let’s face it, you almost have to because they are so full of energy. Now that my girls are older they would rather be doing their own thing. They are both at a stage they are super easy, never ask to do anything, and to be honest I miss the old days of planning and scheduling time with them.
The past two weeks have been crazy busy for me. I’ve been painting the Children’s department at the church and it’s consumed my days. After two weeks of nothing but painting and work, it was time to have a fun day and really spend time with them.
Want to know how simple they really are? We told them they can choose anything they want to do for the day and we waited…went to each one and asked and got nothing. I thought they would be spurting out several things, but nope. They are happy just staying at home watching movies. I think Stephen and I needed a fun day more than they did.
We chose bowling at Main Event in Frisco. They have so much to do there, but the main thing is bowling. We never take the time to do it, but when we do it’s so much fun. We all enjoyed not thinking about anything, not being on our phones, and just having some good competitive fun. I literally took pictures of everyone when we started and then put my phone away.
If you haven’t had a “fun day” in a while, I suggest you plan something soon! Sometimes you just have to make it happen. It did us a lot of good and for the record, Stephen beat all of us (this time😉).
