We celebrated Emily’s 14th birthday while in Alabama at Thousand Trails on Smith Lake.  We woke her up with our traditional cupcake with a single candle. She opened her present (make up brush) from Ella Kate.

We got dressed and headed out for a big day in Birmingham.  First stop was Chick-fil-a for breakfast.  Emily wasn’t feeling so well so she wasn’t able to eat her food.  Little did we know we would later meet a man that needed that meal.

She went shopping for clothes, a mophie case and charger at the Summit in Birmingham.  It was neat being back in the same town where she was born at St. Vincent’s hospital.  It just reminded me of how quickly the time has gone by.  I suddenly realized my baby girl was becoming a young lady.

We ate dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and headed home for cake that I had made earlier.  We were barely able to eat any after all the food and cheesecake but we did and it was delicious.  There’s always room for cake, right?!  It was a great celebration!

Happy 14th Birthday Emily! We love you!  You are my sunshine.
