Easter is one of our favorite holidays. I don’t even like calling it a holiday, it is a Celebration of our Risen Lord and Savior! We always celebrate with our Sun Rise Service at church followed by breakfast and a wonderful message of the miracle of Jesus Christ and how He arose on the third day (Matthew 28:6). There is something special about this day that has many racing to church, even if they haven’t been in years! I love that! It shows the power of Jesus and even if they don’t serve Him daily that they are drawn to come and celebrate this day. Glory to God He is so good!
Pictures are made, families eat together and eggs are hunted to enjoy the day spending time together. What fun memories being made for the children. Some of our most fun to celebrate this day is coloring eggs and cooking together. I think about this scripture “Bring up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). I believe these memories from generations is what brings them back to church even if it is for Easter. One day a year. It’s the memories that their grandparents created many years ago. I can remember going to church with my grandmother. That is some of my sweetest memories. I remember hunting eggs and eating a big meal with all my cousins at my grandparents house. Those were fun days and memories I will always cherish!
