I have so many people asking me about our laundry detergent and how we make it so I thought I would just blog about it and share it with everyone. One of the best decisions I have ever made was to try The Duggar’s Family recipe for homemade laundry soap. I was very sceptical if it was worth it, but we spent about 35 minutes mixing it up and have been doing this now for about two years. This has saved us so much money to spend elsewhere in our family and our clothes come out very clean and fresh. We do not add any fragrance so they do not have a big fragrance smell (which makes it great for sensitive skin). I add fabric softner and dryer sheets to every load (still way cheaper than the detergent itself).
Here are all the supplies:
*Note: You can find All of these items at Walmart on the laundry detergent isle.
It cost about $8
To make powder detergent combine together in large tub and mix well:
1-Box Borax
1-Box Washing Soda (not in picture)
1-Box Pure Baking Soda
1-Zote bar (grate bar)
1-1.3lb Oxi Clean
Here is a tub I made only use 1-2 tablespoons! Yes that is all you need per load.
