My Fifth Grader has always displayed her great ability to draw. She amazes me that she can see it and then can just draw it. We learned early on that she was a visual learner and so we include that in her daily curriculum. She must be able to express it somehow through drawing or writing to make it stick (this is why we started using lapbooks). She has never had art classes, although this has been one of her request. It will definitely be something we look into in the future.
Share: She brought me this picture this morning and I had to ask if she traced it because to me it was beautiful and I was inspired by it. She said no and showed me this picture she had found, I am very proud of her and needless to say she does an excellent job even without lessons.
